Hi Cal:

Yes, I got a bug one day and converted one of my LM frequency meters to a 
solid state vfo for the CE.  Frequency was 5 -5.5 MHz.  It worked well, so I 
added crystal oscillators and mixers for the other bands.  Still have it and 
it works well.
