[Central-Electronics] 10B Exciter

Hi Jim & Gang,

Jim, I think you're confused! I operated 3925 kcs LSB for years on crystal
control. I was W5HHA, "Ken from Kenner"
in those days and very active on the popular SSB net daily on 3925 at 5:30
PM central time.
The crystal has to be the correct frequency to mix with the 9 Mc. sideband
generating oscillator and give the desired output
frequency. I ordered a crystal slightly higher than necessary so I could
"load" it to the exact net frequency.
I coated one side of the FT 243 crystal with mercurochrome, let dry and by
golly I hit the frequency "dead on".

I was using a C.E. 10B and a homebrew linear.

Good luck! & take care,

Ken N5CM
