I think you can use surplus FT-243 crystals. By the way, the VFOs are around. I've seen a couple at hamfests over the last two years. May need some work, though. I've also wondered about using a stable signal generator as a VFO, but I haven't tried it yet.

> Hello, I have a chance to pick up a 10B exciter with a 20 meter coil set in it already. Does anyone know the winding specs if I want to build an 80 meter set of coils up and a source to order coil forms for this transmitter? Also I assume the chance of finding a matching VFO is pretty nil so does anyone know if International Crystal has the information for grinding crystals for CE products?
