Hi again Dave,

I see you received some good info from W7FE however he evidentally
is not fully familiar with the 200V.
The 100V has a multipurpose meter and one function with the "Null"
selected is to indicate the residual carrier. It is calibrated down to
minus 80 db! Holding the spring return in the Null position, adjust
the two null pots one at a time with the other hand.

The 200V does not have this feature! I chided Nick Tusa about it.
Nick is a good friend of Wes Schum who was president of Central Electronics.

I will try to include Nick's instructions on how to null the 200V by
using the "Insert" command.

Nulling the 200V is no problem for me because I have in my station
set-up a Philco 3" Service Scope tied into the receiver I.F. strip so
I can watch the incoming signals as well as my outgoing signal.
This is made possible by using an electronic T/R switch.

If I can get this "Insert" command to work, here are Nick's instructions
for nulling the 200V.

I suggest you detune or attenuate the front end of your receiver so that
your S meter is about mid scale. Set your mic level fully counter
clockwise,
place in USB or LSB and put the transmitter in MAN. Adjust the two Balance
modulator pots for the smallest dot you can see on the 200V's scope...and
continue to adjust until the receiver S-meter level is as low as it can go.
If the
Bal pots have no effect, then possible a diode in the balanced modulator
has
failed.

Nick

Hope this helps and good luck!
