[Central-Electronics] Help!! Need some quick help on my 200V

John,
The use of the Joe Batchelor-designed broadband couplers is what makes the
100V/200V/600L family so unique. There is no "tune procedure!" Just set
the Bandswitch to the desired band and the VFO to someplace in the ham band,
set the "Emission" switch to the mode you want (CW, AM, USB, etc), and
setting the "Function" switch to MAN (for "manual") will put the transmitter
into operation. For AM/SSB, plug in a properly wired HI-Z mike (D-104's work
nicely with the 100V), set the "Function" switch to PTT, and press the PTT
switch on the mike to put the transmitter into operation.
Power output may be set by the "Power Control" pot behind the right hand
drop down door and CW level set by the "CW" pot behind the left hand door.
For AM operation, the carrier level is set by the "AM" pot behind the left
hand door and audio level by the "Speech Level" control, also behind the
left hand door. For SSB, the carrier is balanced out using the two "carrier"
pots (alternate between them, adjusting for minimum meter reading, or
"null") behind the left hand door with the "emission" switch in the "null"
position (spring return on the 100V so it takes two hands...this may have
been changed on the 200V).
A quick read of the first few pages of the manual will confirm and elaborate
on on all of the above.
If you experience low output (or no output) on some bands, you may tweak the
HF oscillator coils to peak up the output. On the 100V, the peak occurs just
before the circuit drops out of oscillation, so I've tuned mine a bit below
peak on each band for dependable operation. I think that the 200V HF
oscillator circuit was improved for broader tuning. Don't mess with any of
the other coils without proper instrumentation or you'll screw up the
broadband circuitry big time.
Again, refer to Nick Tusa's excellent site (sent previously) for other tips.

Subject: [Central-Electronics] Help!! Need some quick help on my 200V
My new CE-200V
I had the 200V on the variac today and everything seems o.k..
I want to fire it up with a dummy load and swr/power meter on cw just to see
if it is putting out a signal.
Have no idea what the tune procedure is.
For now just cw.
Any quick help would be appreciated as I would like to do this tonight if
possible.
Thanks much.
