[Central-Electronics] Adjusting the PS-1

Anyone ever adjust a PS-1?   Mine had two bad caps and bad resistor  
so I figured I better tweak those trimmers to compensate for the new  
parts.

I drove the thing with an audio signal generator and a center tapped  
1:1 audio transformer hoping to turn the trimmers a bit to get  
perfect circles on an X-Y scope set up.  It was sort of round at 1  
kHz but there was nothing round about it as the frequency moved up.    
At  2 kHz it was a  quite squashed ellipse.   The trimmers didn't  
seem to do much.

Have any of you had better luck?   Is there a better procedure?
