I have the BC-458 delivering 1.932 MHz at 8 volts peak to peak into the VFO input on the CE-20A in CW mode. With new ( NOS ) 6AG7 finals, I get a nominal 15 watts out into a dummy load. I also get a 2nd harmonic at 3.864 MHz that is 35 db down from the carrier.

Questions:

1. Is the 15 watts about what I should expect? or should I be looking for more drive from the 9 MHz osc.?
2. Is the -35 dB about what I should expect for the 2nd harmonic?
3. Can I expect that the tuned circuit in the antenna tuner when it is hooked up will also suppress the harmonic more?

1 step at at time...
