[Central-Electronics] 200V on AM

I agree with Todd, given barefoot operation. However, if you have a small amplifier available, say a pair of 811A's, the 100V produces fine sounding AM and superior SSB as a bonus (or the other way around). I use a Johnson Courier in Class B and the 100V will drive the pants off of it. The variable output feature and the broadband (read 'no-tune') output design in the 100V makes amplifier tune-up a breeze, and you will marvel at the design, stability, and operation of the 100V/200V.
I hold the Courier to 75 to 100 watts output on AM, but on SSB it will bury the Bird needle on peaks with a 250W slug. I get very nice reports on both the AM and the SSB audio quality with the combination. I would also recommend trying a Shure 444 with the 100V based on the comparisons I have run and consistent reports of smoother quality with the 444 over the D-104.
