This is a reminder of the weekly ARES/RACES net that takes place tonight
at 8:00PM on 145.390 with a PL of 186.2. The net is scheduled to take
place at the normal time and frequency but due to the hurricane and the
traffic associated with it, the time and/or frequency could change. I
will make a few updates on the 145.390 and 443.700 repeaters before net
time. The main purpose of the net tonight will be to coordinate the
response for the hurricane. Please check-in and help out were needed.
I just spoke with Mike Tackish - KA3GRW and received an update. At this
time, we have operators setting up at the Charles County EOC on Radio
Station Road and at the Civista Hospital EOC. Mike has advised that any
ham that will be available to support communications over the next few
days needs to contact him to get on the list. We could use more people
as we will be providing communications around the clock for the next
couple of days.
Mike will be monitoring the 443.700 and 145.390 repeaters today if you
need to contact him. We will also be using the 145.350 repeater in
Waldorf as a back up.
I hope everybody stays safe and the storm passes quickly. Please get in
touch with Mike if you can spare a little time to help out, it will be
greatly appreciated .
