Riley Hollinsworth talked at a local radio club the other night.  I asked him about
felons holding ham licenses (ref the discussions about N6NHG/Kevin Mitlick the 
notorius computer hacker and K9QVL/Bob Hanssen the FBI agent now convicted spy).

Riley said: "Well, regarding Mitnick, that was handled by the Hearings folk in DC
and the Judge was Sipel, who's one of the best. I think the reasoning was probably
that he served his time, has done nothing wrong since. And since there is no
prohibition against felons holding a license, there wasn't much choice.

re Hanssen, you will be hearing more about that--he was not an active Amateur, but
based on talks last week we probably will take the license. Also, he won't be
using radio where he's living!!!"
