All,

Attached is the short presentation on NVIS Day which is scheduled for Saturday, April 25.

Calvert AUXCOMM plans to set up NVIS stations around Calvert County (and beyond if you choose) to both participate in the Ohio-sponsored NVIS Day as well as check local coverage using NVIS on 40M and 80M.

If you plan on participating, please RSVP. Can be an individual operation or pair up.

While field setups are desired, remember that for many of us, our 40M and 80M antennas at our home QTH's are essentially NVIS capable unless they are very high. Example: A good height for NVIS antenna is 0.2 wavelength at the operating frequency. For a dipole or end fed antenna, that's about 53 ft for 80M and 27 ft for 40M.

Operate with your own callsign. We plan to have a station set up outside our EOC operating as K3CAL.
