Dale,
Since you sent your inquiry using the Auxcomm reflector, I'm assuming your question applies to Auxcomm meeting (ARES and RACES), not the club. If you meant to discuss the club, that's up to the officers.
We had an Auxcomm meeting room for the 3rd Tuesday but that building has been torn down (County Services Building). I'll look into getting a replacement, maybe at the Mt Hope community center. In the past I've found it near impossible to get a room at the library during the evening. There are a couple of other county government meeting rooms but using them is a bit of a pain...have to pick up a key during business hours, then have the meeting (evening) then return the key the following morning...multiple round trips.
What would be really nice is to have a meeting room at a local VFD or EMS but I don't have the contacts. I tried to do this at the Huntingtown VFD but they wanted money to use one of their rooms. Tried the non-profit/supporting county emergency management but that didn't cut it.
Anyone have a good solution for a meeting room? Third Tuesdays best but we can move the monthly meeting date if it gets us a steady meeting location.
What I'd like to do at a face-to-face meeting is bring everyone up to speed in the RACES radio system we're putting in for the county. Still more to do but it's partially up and running.
Shawn
