[CALV-AUXCOMM] Planning for the 10M Exercise on May 15th & Planning Net

I will check Fishing Creek, then towards the end, maybe try Mt Hope. Just use jeep power, no gen set so I can move quicker. Got a new idea on simpler antenna setup, easy setup/ takedown. Will try to test out maybe Wednesday when we go to Drum Point to map repeater coverage.

Mt Hope is high elevation, but can get pretty congested too. let me check them out to be sure. Also a good test might include a bad low area (North Beach /Chesapeake Beach)? ( not my qth.) I would have to find an open area there, possibly the parking lot at the community center in Chesapeake Beach along Fishing Creek? That’s low, maybe 6 ft above sea level.

You will need to find a spot suitable for your antenna plans and hopefully in a location that doesn't draw too much attention. I'm working on the basis of forgiveness rather than permission, but if you see a good spot and want to ask the owner for permission, feel free. Bring your RACES badge if you have one. I'm assuming your antenna choices are somewhat self-contained, perhaps using a mast held down by your vehicle to support a dipole, but not something that looks like a 18A field day op. School parking lots are off limits.

Proposed starting time is 0900 departure from your QTH but with intent to be on the air (10M SSB at 28.350MHz) by 10:30. We'll run the comm test for an hour or less and then meet somewhere for lunch around 12:00.
