Subject: [CALV-AUXCOMM] 2018 SET Planning

All,

This year we will not be having a Section Level Simulated Emergency Test but rather a local SET here in Calvert.

PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU CAN PARTICIPATE (and in what capacity after reading the draft plan below).

The draft plan is to hold an exercise that is typical of what we do here in the county for a severe weather event (i.e. hurricane/tropical storm) when a shelter is opened. Looking for participants to support the following draft plan:

WHEN: The morning of Saturday, Oct 13th from 09:00 to 12:00

WHERE: Looking for individuals/teams to deploy to the following locations (prelim list)

                Huntingtown High School (parking lot)

                         - currently working on permission/forgiveness

                Calvert Health Department (parking lot)

Drum Point Community Center (Radio Room)

         Calvert EOC (EOC room)

Chesapeake Beach/North Beach Location TBD or could be a home QTH.

MODES: The initial plan for frequencies and modes are as follows. Not all will be used. Final plans TBD.

The primary mode will be FM voice on the 146.985 MHz repeater (-600, PL 156.7).

Also would like to test simplex using 146.580 (CALV TAC 3)

                         - deployed teams may wish to set up a portable mast to extend simplex coverage

2 meter packet (normal AX-25) using our K3CAL-1 and K3CAL-10 digipeaters on 145.750 MHz

WL2K peer-to-peer, either simplex or using our K3CAL-1 and K3CAL-10 digipeaters on 145.750 MHz

TRAFFIC: Simulated traffic to include items like head count at shelter(s), request for supplies, conditions at location.

                   Format(s): Plan language voice

         ARRL Radiogram

                                      ICS-213 (General Message)

                                      ICS-213RR (Resource Request)

NET Control: TBD, but may be from the EOC or a home QTH v(as primary or backup).
