Jim and all,

Thanks for the refresher.

Drug out my RIGblaster and hooked it up to my Yaesu 2900 in my ham shack that I use indoors that is hooked to my dual band Yagi on the roof pointed north. Loaded RMS Express updates. Attempted sending several messages. First through KB3FWW-10 only 6 miles away on 145.070 to K3CAL-10 digipeater to you and me. Timed out. That station may not be on the air today.
Then attempted to hit KA3POX-10 which is 40 miles away but I forgot to change frequency so that failed. Changed freq to 145.750 and attempted again. Timed out again.

I will try again with K3CAL-1 and see how that goes. Wish me luck.

Just wanted to know that I am trying to make a connection via radio at home without going to the RV and using the Kenwwood until I run out of options. May do that later just to make sure I can still do it.

Subject: [CALV-AUXCOMM] Winlink email

My computer is on and radio set, internet set, rms winlink is open, auto receive is set to retrieve messages every 30 minutes.

If you would like to practice before the Net tomorrow night.

Address an email to K3UGA, send as winlink message, check request read receipt, post to outbox.

Open session Packet Winlink,

Select a node station from Channel Selection.

Set the following , Digipeater, KA3POX-10 (your selection); via K3CAL-1 or -10

Hit Start.

Should make connection and send all winlink messages in your outbox.

Remember to select a node -gateway station that is on 145.750 if you wish to digipeat with K3UGA -1 or -10 ......and that you are on 145.750 too!

Have fun

Sent from my iPad,
Best Regards, 73,
Jim Tetlow
