Eric and Bill,
Maybe we should practice some of the alternative frequencies should the repeater get too "scratchy" as happens when the wind picks up. Interesting to note that W3PQS, putting out some 100 watts, directed right at the repeater, came in clearly without scratches. Obviously, Echolink worked for KB3RAN and the CALV 05 simplex worked well between us locally between AB3LE, KC3RM (Chris Moody), KB3RAN, and myself. We could not reach W3PQS on simplex in spite of a couple tries. Too bad we couldn't go to 70cm, although at this point I'm limited to using the HT on the new antenna at the CESC at Drum Point Office. BTW, the new tower stood the test - still standing (straight up!)

Opps, I don't think the message was disseminated...
As of 1100L this morning the EOC returned to Level III staffing. It would
appear the higher risk of communications failure or electrical failure has
subsided.
We are now standing down from standby mode. As always, all members are
encouraged to monitor the 146.985 repeater as frequently as possible.
Thank you to everyone who participated in the activation. Please submit your
logs and any thoughts on this activation. If you have pictures please let me
know and I'll collect them later.
73,
Eric Christensen WG3K
