Subject: [WX4LWX - SKYWARN] WX4LWX Blizzard

So there is a “chance” of snow over the next few days…. and we are going to
activate SKYWARN in a report mode starting Friday as weather dictates and
continue taking reports as needed thru the event.

We are going to need a lot of help over the next 3 days completing out mission
of taking information and getting it into the hands of the National Weather
Service. So feel free to jump in and take a few hours taking reports.

The Plan as it stands is to open in Report Mode and email in reports that we
receive. If we get anything super critical we can call these reports in. This
plan keep us all safe at home and off the roads. (there is a chance some of you
are still on the roads from last night)

This is a great opportunity for us to hone our skills as Net Control’s working
on the scripts and getting some the new folks involved. As we work thru the
Snow Storm or Blizzard if anyone is interested in helping out as Net Control
or anyone who has never been Net Control before let us know! This is a great
training opportunity and there are plenty of us around to get you started on
the right path.

A little reminder for all of us……

The National Weather Service is looking for reports of the following:
1. Snow accumulation in inches
2. Any ice accumulation on trees, streets, or power lines
3. Sleet or freezing rain
4. Wind gusts in excess of 35 miles per hour measured using an anemometer.
5. Impassable or closed roads”
6. Downed trees, large branches, or power lines.
7. Any other storm-related damage.

If you have pictures or would like to email your Snow Board reports in
directly you can always send them to
		LWX-report at noaa.gov

Any questions please feel free to email.
Thanks for everyones help I know NWS is greatly appreciative.
