Thanks David for supporting the scouts!

 

I see a scout leader from a den in Dunkirk area at Sneade’s periodically  I’ll ask him what plans they might have for JOTA.  If you or someone from PF south knows a scout leader perhaps that person(s) can ask about JOTA plans within the county.  We certainly want to support our scout troops!.  About ten years ago there was a big camporee in south county for JOTA.  Bob/KB3KOW and Rob/N2OMC, both from CHAS, helped the scouts to get-on-the-air.  

 

We will keep our options open till we can pin down what the scouts in county are doing for JOTA.

I helped with St Mary's County JOTA 2013 which was associated with an all day event with lots of activities.  Would like to see Calvert help with one here.  But will help with Charles County.

Good Morning Everyone,

 

Is there is anyone associated with the Scouts in Calvert County?  

 

Bob/KB3KOW, CHAS EC, is starting to plan for the Jamboree On The Air, JOTA, in Charles County but is asking local jurisdictions for their plans.  Normally the scouts set up their Fall Camporee on October 18-19 weekend. Part of their program is to use ham radio to contact other scouts.  

 

This event is the primary stage of planning right now.  If ham can assist with the JOTA please let Bob from CHAS know.  And I like to be kept in the loop so ‘cc’ me in, please.  Perhaps we have a few hams that like to be involved helping the scouts doing this time?  If there is no Fall Camporee in Calvert County then another option is to take the scouts to MHCC to use the equipment to make contacts from there.

 

Just a reminder to everyone, October is a busy month for us.  We have SET 2014, PRAD Parade, CF Cycle for Life events scheduled for that month. FYI > The CF Cycle for Life event occurs on Sunday, October 19, which should not be an issue if we plan according.
