Hi Scott,
I bought a KW-2000B from the UK some years back, along with the PS speaker. All aluminum and the size of the KWM-2. A much better rig than the Atlanta though; which I believe is similar to the Swan 350 with its drift issues and free running 1st conversion. The 2000 series , like the Collins uses xtal controlled 1st conversion, so it has the same stability and calibration on all bands. I did have to build a buffer stage for the VFO though as (at least on this rig) there was a delta between RX and TX frequencies. A fun transceiver all in all and I enjoyed bringing it back to like new condition:

BTW, I enjoyed your ER article on restuffing cans. You and I do it exactly the same way- including the scratch mark to ensure the base and can are properly aligned when epoxied back together. I put a label on the top with the date the can was redone.

73,
Dale W4OP

Subject: [Boatanchors] KW Electronics

Does anyone here familiar with British KW Electronics? I'm interested in
buying a KW-2000 or Atlanta transceiver. Thanks. 73, Scott WA9WFA
