Hi Scott,
You might look at 455kHz ceramic resonators. They are near free so buy some from different manufacturers. Then use a series cap to put it on your frequency. I just used one for a BFO PCB board I laid out for AM only receivers.
While the resonator said 455kHz, in my oscillator it came in at 446 KHz. I then put a variable cap in series and warped the resonator up to 455KHz. Removed the variable, measured it and substituted an NPO/COG of the same value.
Here is one on a Clegg 66er:

I can send pix of the board, schematic etc if you think that would help. I also have spare PC boards.

Probably a long shot but I’m looking to buy a set of BFO crystals 453.65 and 456.35 for my receiver project. If I can find some, I want to replace the variable BFO and use crystals for USB and LSB. It’s not a problem if I stay with the variable BFO but I thought it would be nice to go with crystal control. Thanks. 73 Scott WA9WFA
