[Boatanchors] Update on Precision Drilling Discussion for Receiver Project

First off, thanks again for all your insight and help on the precision drilling discussion.  Between the automatic center punch and the centering drill bits, plus better marking of holes, I’m feeling good about getting good results on this receiver chassis.

I have a drill press now.  While out walking last weekend, a neighbor down the street had a drill press sitting out on the street in a pile of stuff he was cleaning out.  It’s an older Ryobi 5 speed 1/4 HP, without a base, and in really good condition.  He said it works.  It does.  I needed a base though so I ended up bolting it to my rarely used table saw top.  It turned out great.  So for $0 I have a drill press that should work fine for my light chassis drilling.

I’m close to finishing the design and layout of the receiver, and should begin the chassis work soon.
