[Boatanchors] Globe champ ?

Larry,

The 5Z3 is a 4 pin predecessor of the octal 5U4G so that is probably what was done.  It would be easy enough to check the wiring to see if it corresponds to wiring for a 5Z3 (filamentary cathodes pins 1 and 4, plates pins 2 and 3)

My Globe Champ 300a has a socket marked 5U4 but it's a 4 pin socket and not a 5 pin like the 5U4 tube is.  Having no documentation to look at, does any one know or have an idea of what tube might go there?  Larry/w0ogh
