[Boatanchors] Globe champ ?

Isn't the 5U4 an octal based tube, not a 4 or 5 pin base?

My Globe Champ 300a has a socket marked 5U4 but it's a 4 pin socket and not a 5 pin like the 5U4 tube is.  Having no documentation to look at, does any one know or have an idea of what tube might go there?  Larry/w0ogh
