Yeah, sometimes it's people.

Plus topics. I've heard a lot of 2M and never bothered getting a ticket. 
Coffeeklatch? Ratchetjaw? Wife would listen and thought it funny.


I think you did the right thing by getting involved. This is how to 
build community.

Whenever I listen, they all seem to be pretty hard in their no cursing 
or bashing rules.


Like anything, if people aren't showing up, you have to market.
Find out who has had success and how they did it. Put yourself where 
people likely to join hang out, virtually or in person.

Your experience with the locals is just the kind of thing that fractures 
groups. Any group with more than one person in it will have problems. 
This hurts the hobby or group's topic.
