[Boatanchors] Reality Comes Knocking.

I think we may be waiting a very long time for
chariots, wig-wag flags, electro-mechanical teletype,
landline telegraph, analog TV, depression glass,|
tube radios etc. etc. to become "cool" again.

Look at the current "Steam-punk" fad.
It "flashed in the pan" for a few years.
None of it focused on the real, actual technology;
only the appearances and posing
ever got traction.  It was all a shallow fashion
statement and nothing more. Now it's on the way out,
making way for the next shallow, pretend fad.
It *might* have left a dozen or so people behind
with the interest, resources and time to delve
a little deeper into the actual workings of that
era, but in the grand scheme that's an insignificant
and unsustainable number- think of holding
a hamfest when there are only a few dozen
hams left in all the world.

Hoping will not deter Father Time;
He always wins.
