[Boatanchors] A Classic Example of the Homebrew Art

I didn't mean to imply that the ARRL had a monopoly on good looking
homebrew. Sure some people have talent for it but a lot of it was
and is practice. A lot of good homebrewers were employed in
broadcasting where a lot of studio gadgets and transmit processing
gear were custom built for a station by the engineers. That began to
end with the switch to digital audio. For a time, there was a
regular stream of homebrew 4-1000A amplifiers in racks showing up on
eBay, plus other rigs and tube amps. Some were horrible while others
looked pretty good. You could see the range of homebrewing ability
that existed by looking at these auctions. I admire anyone who makes
an attempt.
