I had one of those vacuum pump de-solder tools and it never worked
right.  Mine was an older American brand that I got second hand.  The
best tool I've used is the plain old Radio Shack sucker that has the
squeeze bulb on the end of a tube that's welded to a regular soldering
iron that has a hollow tip feeding the rubber squeeze bulb.    I buy
cheap surplus DuKane power supply PC cards at D&D Surplus and get
parts off them.   I wound up with so many Illinois Capacitor
electrolytics, that I could give a friend enough to build a cap input
filter on a 6 KV 4-1000A plate supply.   I got so many 24 v. DC pc
board relays that my whole T/R sequencing system is built with them.
