[Boatanchors] Dim bulb testors

Hello all.I want to test out my heathkit 401/301 radio.Rather than get a variac I  was hoping to build a cheap dim bulb testor.Not sure if the wattage would match though.From what I read they are used to  test radios  that run well under 100Watts.Could I just put them in series and build one with 2-3 sockets.A bit of a pain though.ThanksRIch
