Mike,
I find tube scopes at hamfests. They're often under $100 and you can
test them right there (or don't buy it) and they're usually good
enough for ham work. If you want to spend more and pay for a
warranted calibrated used tube scope you can probably get one from
Test Equipment Depot in Boston.
