I'm looking for a working Tek 485 scope. I don't need a fresh NIST
calibration or anything like that. I just need a scope that I can depend
on to work when I turn it on.
I'm sick of E-Pay "specials" that say "parts only"! I've purchased
several "parts" scopes with the hopes of putting the pieces together to
produce a working scope. I've found everything from broken-off plate
deflection pins to deflection pin connectors which were soldered to the
pins to bad fans to non-functional power supplies to scopes that had
been dropped to scopes with "mystery mods"!
It would be nice to have one with a front cover, but I realize those are
made of unobtainium these days, so it's just wishful thinking. Mostly,
I'm just looking for a scope with no missing parts that comes on when
you power it up, triggers on both channels, has a decent CRT and has a
working sweep delay.
Does anyone out there have a Tek 485 which is surplus to your needs? If
so, please get back to me offline and let me know what you want for it,
including shipping to 63114. This scope is for my ham shack, so I don't
have a "commercial" budget!
BTW, I've posted this to the TekScopes forum, but haven't had any
response yet.?? Maybe today will be my lucky day!
Thanks!
