Awe, thanks for that!  I remember watching many of his shows on TV and he was always a family favorite.  Now, I think I'm interested in finding a biography book about him.

Hi Mike,

It sounds like he was an intensely interested SWL. That is how I got 
hooked on radio and eventually became a ham. I still listen more than I 
transmit:)
