I don't have experience with many mobiles, but my Alinco would take
fused power from the battery and then a power sense line (likely from
the fuse box) to control the radio On/Off depending on whether the key
was on.
That said, installation recommendations for the radio should be in
the manual, and as I haven't owned a mini in over 40 years I wouldn't
have any idea about the current model.
