Hmmmm
This is NOT a good idea to let them bill anything to your account.
Inevitably they add various fees and surcharges and screw you!
You experience may vary but it’s happened to me MANY times!

Here’s the best way to ship something valuable. Take it to a FedEx Office or UPS Store. Have them pack it. You can either have them ship it (billing the shipping to your account number) or get a receipt showing that they packed it, amkimg sure the receipt shows box dimensions, weight and to whom it is going.
Them if something happens they cannot weasel out claiming it wasn’t packed properly.
If you pack it yourself use sheet styrofoam that you get at Lowes or that other store. Find it in the insulation department.
Good luck,
Michael, W1RC

You have to PUSH them hard on the damage clAim and INSIST that they pay! It?s a matter of principle. The more times that people give into them on this crap the more they will do it.
Federal Express has started doing the same thing even though they used to play out nicely 20 years ago when they damaged something.
With UPS you have always had to appeal the initial denial of claim.
No FEDEX is playing the same game.
You have to be firm but they will pay out. The last time, I had to file a complaint against federal express with the Better Business Bureau after they tried to cheat me. I got almost all of the money back that was owed to me. Their insurance game has changed, however and it is not as easy as it used to be 15 or 20 years ago. They don?t even call it insurance anymore. There policy writers and lawyers are very very sneaky. Like a snake in the grass in my experience!
