The SP-600 variant is from the NYC company - They came out of Press
Wireless and were related in their early days to TMC which also came out of
Press Wireless. The NYC company made lots of FSK equipment plus some
diversity receiver systems with the modified SP-600.

The Seattle company made marine 2-way radios, forest service radios, and a
few HF receivers. My message was prompted by finally getting a copy of Fred
Osterman's "Receivers" book and seeing that he had confused the two
companies. It is a great book though and show's one heck of a lot of
research.
