Those hams using DMR are working with current technology just like the old farts did with vacuum tubes and the even older farts did with smoke signals. Time moves on.

When one of them tells me "I just worked Greece (or whatever)", I just 
laugh at them and tell them, "no, you just worked the local DMR repeater
