He's not talking about the heat sink.  He means the flared cylinder
that fits over the rod from the anode which is held to the rod with a
set screw.  The heat sink fits over the flared cylinder.  Doug, there
must be a way to separate the anode rod grip from the heat sink.
Maybe if you soak the whole thing in PB Blaster that will free them.
The heat sink screws must not be releasing the cap.
