[Boatanchors] A Cure for "The Silence of the Bands"

For entertainment, I like to call CQ on a random frequency, like 7.247367, and if anyone actually answers, enjoy the comments like "Your audio is very garbled", "Your audio is high pitched and hard to copy", or from the more astute, "i had to tune off frequency to hear you. You must be having a problem with your rig since you are not "'on frequency" (the corollary to which is "You seem to be a little off frequency, but I used my RIT and was able to copy"). It had apparently become unthinkable to this op to actually transmit on an "uneven" frequency.

Engaging in a conversation with these folks requires an effort to avoid sarcasm or condescension. It's a good exercise toward improving one's skill at amiable social intercourse. Maybe.
