[Boatanchors] National HRO-7 Chassis/Cabinet Disassembly Problem

GE All,
An HRO-7 recently came into the 'black hole' here. It works, however the Phasing
control is either shorting or opening up during its rotation and cuts out the signal.
There is a pretty wide area of rotation that does this. I need to get into the phasing
box. It has side plates and need to take off the outside one to get access to the phasing
variable capacitor. Looks like all the knobs and dial must be removed to get the chassis
out of the cabinet. The PW dial, with set screws loose, is not coming off. Any ideas on
getting it loose....is it ok to carefully pry some on it. I don't want to mess up the dial or
gear box. I may be able to put some liquid wrench down the empty set screw holes
.....any other ideas?

Thought I'd ask before I fouled up something....thanks.
