Talking about the 1051 reminds me that mine is dead as a post. At the time 10+ years agoni checked the tubes. Checked ok.  I inserted 250 mv at antenna jack- heard crickets. Then 1000 mv-same. Went up to .1 volts.  Zero. Was on way to Fiji and Solomon islands and wanted to bring it for SW listening but took my 51S1 instead which needed work and glad i did. The Collins was a winner. 
It is about time to break out the 1051B and do some "real" trouble shooting instead if easter-egging .
