WANTED: HELP WITH MOTOROLA R2600 SERVICE MONITOR
I have a Motorola R2600B Service Monitor with several of the software
options.
It's a great all-in-one piece of test equipment, but unfortunately mine does
not have the duplex tracking generator, which means I can't view the
spectrum analyzer in duplex mode (i.e. to tune a duplexer by watching the
scope). It its day, this was a software option installed by PROM, EPROM,
EEPROM, or off a disc (I forget the details but have some old emails on the
topic).
Motorola no longer manufactures, sells, or supports these service monitors,
and as far as I can tell, they are orphans to which no one claims rights;
there are plenty of them sold on the used market, but that's about it, just
good, old gear.
I would give my eyeteeth to add the duplex tracking generator to my
analyzer. I have some old emails that speak of the firmware upgrade option
being read off a disc and loaded via serial cable, or read off device
so-equipped, and a new xxPROM burned and installed to add the function.
Does anyone on the list have the software upgrade or own an R2600 with the
duplex tracking generator installed? I will gladly cover any costs involved.
Please contact me off-list.
Thanks and 73,
Dan
