[Boatanchors] BC453 caps

I got a pristine BC-453 today and will restuff the caps.

They are most unusual, appearing to be potted with a clear potting compound.
Is that correct? Is the potting meltable? What is it?

Does anyone know how to get the terminals and their holding plate out and back in safely?

Any tips on doing it?

Anybody know where to get correct connectors? I found a tuning knob.
