I used to be a heavy smoker. I quit about 6 years ago. My rack
equipment was all yellowed from nicotine. I tried various cleaners
from Windex to bathroom/kitchen cleaners none of it seemed to work. I
found that Oxyclean and water works wonders. My gear consists of
brushed aluminum, black anodized and painted black. Oxyclean got the
smoke residue off the aluminum and painted surfaces as well as the
knobs. You'd hardly tell my gear was once in a smoke filled room.
Just add a scoop of Oxyclean in a spray bottle full of water and
you're good to go. Spray it on the surface or on a rag and wipe the
nicotine away.. You can buy powdered Oxyclean at your grocery store in
the washing detergent isle.
