Art Collins beat Bill Halligan by about 5 years with the 32V and 75A.
QST advertisements in either '46 or '47 showed them together with the
caption: This can be your complete ham radio station.
I can't imagine a more boring radio experience than a nice neat desk
with a key and mic and ash tray and a matching transmitter and
receiver and nothing else. Perhaps a clock and log book. I am
guessing Art's thinking was XYL approval and endorsement for the OMs.
But Bill Halligan was known to have had the idea for making receivers
that would be attractive enough to be in living rooms instead of
basements. That was the cabinet design goal for the SX28.
