For the "twins" look, the Hallicrafters SX-88 / HT-20 were among the first units to resemble each other.  Both are relatively rare with considerably less HT-20 transmitters being made than the SX-88.


I don't have an SX-88 but do have an HT-20, s/n 11.

Hi Dale,

Thanks for the pics. I can see a very strong family resemblance there. I 
think along the way I snagged a PDF or DJVU copy of the manual for that 
one. I have all the documents for the 599 series (all I could find). 
Some bits are rearranged and probably updated/improved from model to 
model but they all have the same basic DNA. The front panel of that rig 
looks like a stretch version of mine with the same receiver and 
transmitter controls all rolled up onto one panel.
