Wayne and all, Thanks for the info! I’ve seen the ad in the 66 WRL catalog and I might actually remember seeing it ‘live’ when I was a kid in 1966.
Dave Thompson told me that he had a friend who owned a Galaxy Duo-Bander for many years so this is a mystery to me.
My question is did WRL design and manufacture the radio? I know it says WRL on it but was this still Leo Meyersen’s company at the time? Was it designed by “Galaxy”?
By the way, a neighbor had a Galaxy 5 with matching speaker in the late 60’s and it was a fabulous radio!

Intended as fixed or mobile, with only LSB SSB operating mode. A curiosity was that 2 of the set's transistor were pressed into functioning as zener diode regulators for the transistor balanced modulator & the vfo.

Galaxy III and V both apparently came out in or around 1964. Galaxy was Leo Meyerson's manufacturing firm grown out of WRL in 1962, and both were in Council Bluffs, Iowa. An earlier manufacturing firm, Globe Electronics, had grown from WRL & was sold in 1959.
