And it provided a source of shack heat in the winter 😊 The article is available here at the excellent American Radio History site which contains an incredible resource of early radio magazines and literature: http://americanradiohistory.com/Archive-Radio-News/50s/Radio-News-1956-10-R.pdf

Michael,
That must be another descendant of the 6L6 which provided the basis for the 807 (and military 1625 variant). I believe this is the first time I have heard of someone using a transmitting tube in a TV set instead of a sweep tube in a amateur transmitter, well done ?
The October 1956 issue of Radio and Television news contained a construction article for building a 2 meter grounded grid receiver preamplifier using a pair of forced air cooled 2C39 transmitting tubes which was also rather unique.
