[Boatanchors] 12 volt supply question

Hi Ray,
If I can put 4 cents worth of electronic engineering, it will be:
1- Computer power supplies highest power outputs are on the 3.3 and 5V rails
(and even at lower voltages as the technology evolves) 12V output(s) being,
normally, only a low-power "utility"..
2- Switching power supplies are noisy by nature (some being worse than
others) and whatever the receiver they are used with, they can impact the
lowest signal level receivable.
3- Switching power supplies only good feature is that they are more
efficient than linear circuits, like in CFL and LED lightning.
4- For digital applications, switching supplies are perfect, but for
low-level analogue circuit, well... linear is better, EMI wise.
