Al,

There is a standard Collins Service Bulletin which replaces the open frame relays with fully enclosed relays.  The Service Bulletin is available for download from the Collins Collectors Association (see web link below) and sometimes , the relay upgrade kits show up for sale on E-bay.  You might try just carefully cleaning and burnishing the contacts before replacing the old relays.
