Do you guys with GK500s do the trick with the reverse diode string
from final h.v. to ground with a resistor in series with the diodes,
the value of which is the final impedance, so that if you  modulate
the B+ down to zero the mod. transformer secondary still has a
resistor load that is the same as the final Z?   The diodes only
conduct for the instance the B+ is clipped off.   They have to have a
total PIV that is one or two KV higher than the positive modulated B+
