[Boatanchors] WE 407 and 408 tubes - thanks

Hi,

Thanks to everybody who replied here and on the "glowbugs" (aka
"tetrode") list. Nobody has replied with a need for the tubes. I have
only one of each which gives me just enough for a 1-v-1 or a 0-v-2 regen
receiver. I may be be using them for something like that. Some other
projects have a higher priority (like finishing them) so these two tubes
will be available for a ham who might need them for his gear - for a
little while yet.

I try to take a somewhat kinder approach toward the "audiophools". Who
am I to say they can't hear the differences between rookie and
experienced capacitors or signals that have passed through cryogenically
treated cables. As a musician I play 'acoustic' instruments and the only
microphones and amplifiers are for singers - human voices - where we of
course want faithful audio response and not the wild distortion and ear
shattering thunder. My instruments do NOT have electronic "pickups" and
do not treat microphones well. Note that all of us can still hear
without hearing aids <evil grin>.

73,
